In 1948, my grandfather James McAlpine registered with the USDA as an agricultural farm.
He grew a multituted of veggies along with sugar beets. We refreshed the file with the USDA in 2007. In the early 1950's my grandparents opened McAlpine's Place. A roadside take-out and eatery. They operated their stand into the late 1960's.
I have lived on the farm most of my life. I returned in 1997 and I purchased the farm from my cousin in 2003.
I still live here with my wife Barb, who came into my life in 2004 and we were married in 2006. We made Nashville Plantation history that day, for the only ones to have a wedding and reception at the town hall across the road from the farm.
We soon realized that we both had something to share with others and that is how Nashville Valley Farm started in 2006.
We strive to help people with their needs. We have also hired local people with disabilities and extreme talents.
These are some of the reasons why Nashville Valley Farm will grow into the future with the traditions of the past.
We are also dedicating Nashville Valley Farm to the loving memory of our past family members. The McAlpines, Charettes, Cordeiro & Camaras.
